Providing free school supplementary pack for the children of journalists

The function for providing free school supplementary pack for the children of journalists was held with the participation of Honourable Minister Keheliya Rambukwella on 22 nd December 2020 at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. Journalists representing several provinces and media institutions, secretary to the Ministry of Mass media Jagath P. Wijeweera, The Chairman of Sri Lanka Press Council, Senior lecturer Mr.Mahinda Pathirana, Director General of Government Information Nalaka Kaluwewa, member of the board of directors Dr. Tudor Weerasinghe and Press Commissioner Niroshana Thambawita participated in this occasion.

Parallel to the above occasion another event for providing free school supplementary pack for the children of journalists was held on 26 th of January 2021 at Sri Lanka Press Council auditorium. School supplementary pack was provided for persons who could not attend to the previous programme because of the covid-19 pandemic islandwide.

Teachers attended for this occasion mentioned that the topics of discussion on syllabus and current themes are beneficial for their academic work. Furthermore proposals were made to organize lectures for one or two days for teachers. At the end of the programme a participatory certificate was handed over to the teachers.
